Terms and Conditions for MZ.Renting - Garment Hire

1. Rental Period and Returns

  • The standard rental period for our garments is a maximum of four days. We kindly ask that you return the items unwashed and on time. Item's need to be dropped off &/or posted by the following business day. If you require an extension, please message us.
  • In case you cannot return the items by the agreed-upon deadline, we are open to providing an extension; however, you must communicate this in advance.
  • The bond for our garments range from $30 - $50. Any items returned late, without an agreed-upon extension, will result in a $10 bond deduction per day late. After that, an additional $10 extra per day late will be required and legal action may be taken by the end of the week.
  • Failure to return the item on time or posting it late that costs our business another rental, will result in an extra hire payment &/or termination from future hiring with us. 

2. Tracking and Postage Returns

  • We ask renters to please send via express shipping & incorporate a tracking number when returning items if posting back to us. This ensures a secure and traceable return process, as well as proof of postage to avoid a deduction to your bond.
  • For those who hire via postage, an express return satchel will be included with your order, pre-filled with our return information. Please utilise the included satchel.
  • Failure to not utilise our express return satchel &/or post back via standard shipping, which results in a delayed arrival + missed rental for someone else, will result in an extra hire payment &/or termination from future hiring with us. 

3. Return Instructions

  • Please return the items in the original bag provided, leaving them at our front door. We appreciate it if you can send a photo or message once completed.

4. Bonds

  • Bonds range between $30-$50 and are typically returned on Tuesday nights. For the prompt return of bonds, it is essential that all items remain unwashed.
  • Washing garments can result in setting in stains. If this occurs, renters may lose their bond, have to cover additional costs (cleaning or repairs) or they may be responsible for replacing the entire item.
  • Minor stains from makeup, fake tan, or similar can usually always be treated. If needed, additional care will be required if marks do not come out. Since the renter is responsible for this, the bond will be used for further dry cleaning. Any extra costs will also be required from the renter. 
  • Bonds are returned as long as there is no irreversible damage, loss or delay in return.

5. Pick-ups and Postage

  • Pick-ups are available from our family home, located in Keilor Downs 3038. Some items that aren’t ours will need to be picked up & returned to another address, which will be provided to you after the hire payment has been made. 
  • We kindly request that renters avoid loud music and refrain from pulling into, or parking in the driveway during pick-up/drop off. 
  • Postage returns or drop-offs should occur on the next business day following the hire period. (see more in section 2)
  • Express postage is available for $20 (postage to you + a return satchel inside), both for delivery Australia-wide.
  • Our posting days are within Monday - Wednesday 3pm (subject to our schedule), to assure appropriate transit time prior to your hire period. Postage after these days is not supported as chances in a successful delivery are slim.
  • Please note that MZ Renting takes absolutely no responsibility for postage delays as courier services are out of our control. 
  • For drop-offs or pick ups of an item, a fee of $1 per kilometer (one way & per service) applies for locations within Melbourne. No dispatchment will commence unless the full hire payment, bond AND drop off or pick up fee has been paid (excluding cash payments, which requires the FULL amount).     • Pick ups / drop offs or postage fees, will never be refunded! 

6. Try-Ons

  • Try-ons are conducted at our Keilor Downs address, and availability is subject to our work schedule.
  • We kindly ask that you avoid heavy perfume, makeup, or tanning products when trying on garments as this will alter their cleanliness, resulting in the deduction of your $10 try on deposit.
  • A grace period will be given for those who are running late, as long as this is communicated. Failure to communicate your punctuality will result in the cancellation of your try on appointment. NO refund will be given. (Grace period: 5minutes if your try on is 15mins, 15mins if your try on is 30mins).
  • No shows, extreme lateness or cancellations within 48 hours of your booking will also result in the deduction of your deposit & appointment. MZ Renting does not offer an extension of time or the re-usage of your $10 deposit for another try on time. Another try on will need to be booked, requiring another $10 fee, also subject to our availability. 
  • If you need to move your try on prior to the 48 hours, please contact us to make that arrangement. Another $10 fee will NOT be required. 
  • Your $10 booking fee will be reimbursed if you show up to your try-on, regardless if you hire something or not. If you wish to go ahead with a rental, the $10 will be go towards your hire. 
  • A maximum of two people may accompany you during try-ons. Please message prior to let us know. 
  • Parking in the driveway and loud music should be avoided. As well as inappropriate language during calls / FaceTimes or your try on session.
  • If our schedules do not align, we offer a "pick-up/overnight try-on" option. A full payment for the garment hire and bond is required for each and serves as a security deposit during your possession of the item/s.
  • Up to five garments may be tried, but a security payment (a garment hire fee plus one bond) is required for all. The items must be returned the following day / the day agreed upon and in their original condition (free from heavy perfume, makeup, tanning products or marks) for the full security payment refund. A deduction will be applied where situation fit, for any garment that's quality that is tainted.
  • In the event a renter wants to go through with the hire of a garment/s they tried on, the renter is able to keep their desired rental item/s for the relevant & upcoming hire period per agreement of MZ Renting. 
  • The remaining garments need to be returned the next day / day agreed upon, in which an appropriate security payment will be refunded on the items you did not hire, as long as they are returned in original condition, deduction's apply.

7. Refunds

  • We offer try-ons to ensure the right fit. Mz.Renting is not responsible for last-minute decisions or incorrect sizing. Bonds will be returned once the outfit is returned on time and in appropriate condition.
  • In the event of a cancellation or postponement, store credit of the total price is available for those who have contacted us within 48 hours prior to the hire period (Thursday 11:59pm cut off) & for a one-time use. If an event is canceled or postponed a second time, a new payment is required.
  • Your store credit consists of the cost of the last outfit you intended to hire. Keep in mind that when you're wanting to use your credit, that this only covers your previous amount. If you're wanting to hire something in a higher price range, you credits will go towards it, leaving only additional costs to be paid. If you hire something in a lower price range, any extra credits will go towards your next future rental. (Note : Pick ups / drop offs + postage is not covered or included in store credit, when wanting to use your store credit, either one of these fees will be required again) 
8. Privacy
  • Your mobile number or a photo of your valid ID may be requested for security purposes. Please rest assured that only one person has access to your personal information. Your identity will not be disclosed unless an item is stolen, in which appropriate legal action will be taken to recover it.

9. Deposits

  • To secure your desired date and avoid last-minute cancellations, we require an optional, but non-refundable $30 deposit. This deposit serves as the bond once the hire is confirmed and will be returned if the garment is returned on time and in appropriate condition. (see section 4)
  • Deposits are non-refundable except in cases where an event is canceled or postponed within 5 days prior to your desired hire period. After this period, the bond is forfeited. (for garment hire cancellations, see section 7)
  • If you choose not to leave a deposit, the garment will not be held. If another party expresses interest, we will notify you to confirm your intent by the end of the day with an appropriate amount of time to reply. If we have not received a response the hire will be passed on. 
  • The remaining payment is due before pick-up. The hire item/s will only be left out & our address given once the full payment is made. 
  • The full payment is due before postage. NO items, even with a deposit will be posted off without a full payment. A delay in payment which results in late postage, is still at your own risk. MZ Renting holds no liability for postage delays unless the fault of delayed postage has fallen on us, in which only then will a refund be issued. 

10. Identification Verification

  • To proceed with any bag or garment hire, MZ Renting requires a mobile number and copy of a valid government-issued identification (ID) from the customer or your legal guardian (if under 18). This ID must match the name and details provided during the booking process.
  • The copy of the ID can be submitted or requested electronically through a secure method specified by MZ Renting. Particularly through instagram or the mobile number you've provided when making a booking. 
  • MZ Renting reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking if the customer fails or refuses to provide a valid copy of their ID or a legal guardians.

11. Changes to Terms and Conditions

  • MZ.Renting reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
  • Customers will be expected and are responsible to read & agree to any and all changes to these t&c's prior to any bag or garment hire, regardless of being a previous customer.

This identification verification clause is implemented to ensure the security and proper processing of bag and garment hires.
