Terms and Conditions for MZ.Renting - Garment Hire
1. Deposits, Payments & Booking Security
- An optional $30 non-refundable deposit can be made to secure your desired hire for 1 week only, then the remaining payment will be required. Once the hire has been confirmed, the deposit becomes your bond.
- Deposits can become store credit only if your event is canceled or postponed with 8 days noticeof your hire period.
- Without a deposit, garments are never held; If another customer books first, the item will be reassigned.
- Full payments (hire fee, bond, and any applicable delivery fees) are required before any garments are posted, left out for pick-up or dropped off.
- All orders are to be made through MZ.Renting’s website.
- No garments will be released without full payment. Any delays due to late payments are at the renter’s own risk.
2. Rental Periods, Returns & Extensions
- Rental durations are for either 4 or 8 days.
- If you require a weekday hire, please let us know ahead of time.
- Items must be unwashed and unaltered , and either dropped off or express posted by the next business day after your hire period.
- Extensions may be granted if requested in advance but are not guaranteed.
- Late returns without approval incur a $10 daily bond deduction; additional fees or legal action may apply for extended delays.
- Failure to request a pick-up for your hire item will also result in appropriate bond deductions.
- Late / incorrect returns or postage causing a missed booking will result in an additional hire fee to compensate the customer and possible termination of future rentals.
3. Shipping & Cut-Off Times
- Express shipping is available Australia-wide:
- $28 for small satchels
- $37 for medium satchels (applied automatically based on garment size/quantity)
- All include a prepaid return satchel.
- If required, please ensure you select and pay for shipping at the checkout. If shipping is not selected, you’ll need to manually transfer the fee. Any delays caused by missing shipping payments are the customer’s responsibility.
- Returns must only ever be sent via express postage, even if you’ve misplaced the return satchel. Please then provide the tracking number to ensure security and avoid bond deductions.
- Failure to use express post or switching to standard shipping may result in loss of bond, extra charges, or rental bans.
- Postage cut-off is Wednesday 3:00PM. Shipping orders placed after this are at your own risk. MZ Renting is not liable for courier delays, even if the item is posted within a reasonable timeframe / before cutoff.
4. Pick-Ups, Drop-offs & Delivery Guidelines
- Pick-ups & returns are to our location in Hillside 3037. Some third-party rentals require collection and return to alternate addresses, you will be advised before confirming your hire.
- Address & pick up instructions will be given after your order is placed, so please ensure you provide your contact information.
- Parking is available on the road. So please avoid using the Neighbour's drive way during pick-up, drop-off or try ons.
- Returns by postage or drop-offs are the next business day after the hire period.
- Local delivery within Melbourne is available at a rate of $1 per kilometre (one-way, per service). Please note this is subject to availability and not always doable.
- Please communicate at an appropriate time if you need an item picked up after the hire period, to avoid bond deduction.
- All order payments + delivery/drop-off fees must be paid in full before dispatch, no cash payments.
- Fees for postage, pick-up, or drop-off are non-refundable one the payment has been placed.
5. Try ons
In-Person Try-Ons
- Available by appointment at our Hillside location and are subject to availability.
- A $10 payment is required to secure your try-on. This will go towards any booking.
- The $10 fee is non-refundable, but your appointment can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice. After this a new booking and payment is required.
- Please do not wear makeup, fake tan, or heavy perfume during your appointment. All items need to remain fresh & clean for potential hires.
- If any items are damaged or ripped during a try-on, you will be responsible for covering the repair or replacement costs.
- A 5-minute grace period is given for 15-minute try-ons, and a 10-minute grace period for 30-minute try-ons, if lateness is communicated. Please note that try-ons are booked back-to-back, so no additional time will be added to your session.
- If you are more than half your booking time late, your appointment will be automatically cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
- A maximum of two guests may attend. Please inform us in advance.
- Respectful behaviour is expected - no loud music, inappropriate language, or driveway parking. Please treat our garments with care.
Overnight Try-Ons
- Full payment (hire + bond) is required as security per item for overnight try-ons.
- You may take home up to 5 garments to try (3 x payments required).
- If you’re not hiring the item immediately (e.g. booking for a future date), item’s must be returned the next day in original condition. Unless you're hiring for the upcoming weekend, only the booked item can be kept – all others tried on must be returned.
- Failure to do so will result in appropriate late fee bond deductions.
- Refunds for unused items may be processed after inspection, ensuring all garments are returned in original condition — free from makeup, fake tan, damage, etc. Provided everything is returned as expected, refunds are typically issued within 1–2 business days.
Interstate Try-Ons
- Interstate try-ons require full hire payment, bond, and all relevant shipping costs to be paid upfront.
- You may have up to 3 garments, relevant payments are required per item.
- Hired items will not be posted close to another customer's booking to avoid complications.
- You must express post the item(s) back by 12pm the day after you receive them. Please provide any tracking numbers.
- All items must be returned in original condition — clean, undamaged, and free of makeup, tan, perfume & on time — for any payment refunds to be processed.
- If you decide to proceed with a hire, your original payment (minus shipping) will go toward your booking. A new shipping fee will be required for the final hire.
- If your try-on is the week of your upcoming event, you may keep the item you plan to hire, but all other try-on pieces must be express posted back the next day. The hired item must then be returned via express post the next business day .
- If you don’t proceed with a hire, refunds (excluding shipping) will be issued once items are returned, inspected that they’re in original condition, and confirmed to have been posted on time
6. Return Instructions
Postage Returns
- Garments must be sent via express post by 3:00PM Monday or the following business dayafter your hire.
- Tracking must be provided as proof of return.
Drop-Off Returns
- Return your item in its original bag and place it in the top compartment of the parcel box using the lever by 6:00 PM Monday.
- Please do not open the bottom compartment and message us once returned.
- If the parcel box is full please contact us immediately for relevant instructions on where to leave the item.
7. Bonds
- Bonds range from $30–$50, depending on the garment.
- Bonds are refunded Tuesday evenings, with funds typically received within 1–2 business days.
- Items must be returned unaltered and unwashed — changes & incorrect washing can set in stains and may lead to bond forfeiture or replacement fees.
- Minor makeup or tan stains may be treatable, but any additional cleaning costs will be deducted from your bond if needed.
- General wear and tear is expected, and minor additional damage will be given reasonable grace. However, if repairs are required beyond this, the cost will be deducted from your bond &/or extra charges reimbursed by you.
- Full bond refunds are only issued if all items are returned on time, undamaged, and in original condition.
- For overnight and interstate try-ons, refunds will also depend on items being posted back on time and meeting all return condition requirements as mentioned above.
8. Refunds & cancellations
- No refunds will be issued for:
- Change of mind
- Incorrect sizing
- Last-minute cancellations within 8 days
- Shipping cancellations
- Try-ons are encouraged to ensure fit and satisfaction.
- If your event is cancelled or postponed with 8+ days notice, your payment may be converted into store credit.
- The only refundable charges are shipping or delivery fees, where applicable.
- Changes from shipping to pick-up must be made by the Friday before your item is due to be posted (typically Monday). After this point, the delivery fee is non-refundable.
- Store credit terms:
- Can be used for a future booking
- If the next hire is more expensive, the difference must be paid
- If the next hire is cheaper, the remaining credit may be used towards an additional booking but the difference must be paid.
- Credit does not cover shipping or delivery fees
9. Privacy & Identification
- We may request your mobile number and photo ID for security purposes.
- This information is accessed by one person only and will never be shared, unless required for legal recovery.
- Failure to provide valid ID—or a legal guardian’s ID if under 18—may result in a booking being declined.
10. Changes to Terms
- MZ Renting reserves the right to update these terms at any time.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to read and accept the latest terms before each hire, regardless of any previous bookings.
This identification verification clause is implemented to ensure the security and proper processing of bag and garment hires.
